About Us

McCandlish Holton provides creative business and legal strategies for the marketplace of today and tomorrow. From our offices in the financial district of Richmond, Virginia, we represent professionals and businesses, ranging from small start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, in all aspects of their legal needs.

Since our inception more than 25 years ago, our advice has been founded on three bedrock principles: responding to the particular goals of each client; clearly understanding our clients’ businesses and business objectives; and applying innovative thinking to the matter at hand.

We do not merely identify obstacles. We look beyond traditional solutions to achieve favorable outcomes, whether in structuring business transactions, litigating a dispute, or overcoming regulatory hurdles. We achieve success only as a result of the success of our clients.

We advise our clients regarding a full range of practice areas. Depending on the needs of a particular client, our attorneys work in collaborative, multi-specialty teams, or as focused specialists in a particular area. We continually innovate, ensuring that our U.S. and foreign clients receive unparalleled legal expertise at extremely competitive rates.

We recognize our obligation to give back to the communities in which we practice. Toward that end, our attorneys contribute many hours annually of pro bono legal services, and serve as leaders and volunteers with a wide array of civic and charitable organizations.

At McCandlish Holton, we are committed to providing strategically oriented, high-value services to each of our clients.

In the Community

McCandlish Holton understands that the legal profession exists to serve the community. As part of our commitment to our clients and the community, we are actively involved in substantial outreach and pro bono legal services. Our firm strongly believes that all persons should be accorded with due process of law and access to competent legal counsel.

Our attorneys are involved in more than 60 community organizations helping to end hunger, educate our youth, provide free legal services to active-duty military and their families, and afford access to medical care for impoverished children. These services demonstrate our continuing commitment to civil liberties and professional responsibility. Additionally, we encourage community involvement from all of our employees; and for that reason, we offer paid leave for employees to participate in volunteer activities with recognized charitable organizations.

We sincerely hope that our civic involvement expands into new communities, cultivating abundant opportunities for our lawyers to partner for public good.
