Kwabena Akowuah
Associate
Kwabena is an Associate in the Litigation Practice Group. His practice is concentrated on representing Virginia employers of all sizes in workers’ compensation cases before the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission. Kwabena regularly advises clients with regard to employer rights and liabilities.
He earned his J.D. at the University of Virginia School of Law where he was a member of the Raven Society and served on the senior editorial board of the Sports and Entertainment Law Journal. Kwabena gained practical experience in the Family Resource Clinic, representing clients in hearings before the Virginia Employment Commission and the Department of Medical Assistance Services. He also received advanced training through Virginia CLE’s National Trial Advocacy College.
Prior to joining McCandlish Holton, Kwabena had the honor of interning with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, the Department of Justice’s Consumer Protection Branch, and the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.
